brass? What if you had a bunch that had NOTHING on the headstamp? It would be pretty easy to accomplish that. I have some calibers that sport 3-4 different parent headstamps.

There are places that require the cartridge to match the caliber on the firearm. It's also nice when your family and friends are at the range with you so they know what fits what. And when you are dead it's easier to sell the guns if there are components that are easy to recognize.
