Sent Gary a 7.5" barrel 10mm SRH this morning. Will be a simple kinda, sorta custom.

I've asked Gary to replace the cylinder with a 6-Shot 38-40 WCF cylinder.

I happen to have an extractor that fit 38-40 Brass perfectly. Hope that saves somebody some work.

This will be a very unique build in my thoughts at least. Very beefy cylinder so strength will not be an issue. Gun comes ready to mount a scope, so hoping for a great, vintage cartridge hunting gun.

Sounds cool to me.

I'm still cautious with loading, but this one will be sturdy.

Remember they build six shot 454s and 480s on these. The SRH 45 Colts are often loaded to 50K PSI.

So what is the extractor from?

Difference in the 44 Magnum and 38-40 Brass base. Not necessarily on paper, but by actual measurement of cases.

Gary's chambering certainly tighter than any standard factory guns. So this will work perfectly.

Didn't Colt chamber their SAA in 38-40?
