Have a 17HMR SS that I had a miss fire in and I can't get the cylinder out and it won't rotate. THERE is NOTHING in the barrel but I do have 3 loaded rounds in the cylinder. Not sure what is happening. A little help please! Thanks in advance
you probably have either a pierced primer with

the firing pin stuck in the primer or it was a hot load and is cratered and flowed back into the firing pin recess in the frame. If the round under the hammer has been fired, open the loading gate, pull the base pin all the way out and tap the left side of the cylinder with a rubber mallet. That should dislodge the cylinder.
Gotta be one or the other doesn't it?

It's a rimfire

could the firing pin still be stuck? I can see daylight through the barrel/cylinder gap plus I ran a pin from the muzzle to the back of the cylinder with no obstruction. Do I need to disassemble?

I'd say the primer shoved the bullet to the barrel throat...

Bullet is partially in the cylinder and partially in the barrel.
Guy brought me one like that once. I used a wooden dowel and knocked the bullet back into the cylinder and all was well.
Take that for what it's worth. May not be the same issue, but bet it is.
I thought of that but he said there was nothing

in the barrel.
I'd look thru the barrel gap first stop...

Can you tap the case with a cleaning rod?

Make jar it loose. Or as Gary suggested take out base pin and tap the cylinder out. He's probably fixed many of these problems.
I got it out

The case is split, and has a hole on the rim where the firing pin hit.
that was probably the problem. The firing pin

was stuck in the hole where the firing pin hit. The round was obviously (in my humble opinion) way too hot. Besides lodging the tip of the firing pin in the pierced rim, it also split the case. I would pack the remaining rounds up and send them back to the manufacturer along with some pics of the case.
