Will arrive tomorrow. So, I'll be doing plenty of experiments with these.

First order will be to ship some up to Yankee Country for WB to try in his 400 GNR.

The 24" 38-40 TC Contender Carbine Gary built me posts some impressive velocities. Needs sturdy bullets to hold up. The factory 10mm bullets just come apart at 2000 fps.

This will open new doors for these rounds. Not to mention my 401 GNR.

WHAT DIES WILL YOU USE. I

Reason being I want some .401" and some .400" in the end for different applications.

I went with .404" as the first step due to all the 41 Magnum bullets I measured being undersized. I tried to split the middle.

I'm just playing around....

I see the need for a dedicated neck reaming die is to not only hold the case but also to limit and control depth. Most importantly it has a wall to hold the brass against to cut the other side. If you don't have it you risk simply belling the brass with a reamer and not actually cutting.

I managed a way to play with these, reducing wall thickness from 0.011 to 0.009" which is what I wanted. My lips are sealed as to my technique. 9 + 9 = 18 which is what I can work with in thousandths, adding it to my bullet diameter.
