We vote but we're being flooded with bussed in fraudulent voters plus folks that move here from socialist utopia states and bring their politics with them.
Virginia is a bifurcated state: largely liberal northern VA + tidal areas, then the more conservative rest of VA.
So many of the people in those liberal areas work in the federal govt sector and vote with their pocketbooks. They don't want smaller, more transparent and accountable government.
Liberal areas have higher head counts and contribute higher levels to state treasury.
It doesn't get much press but

After 9-11, several federal government agency elements were relocated out of downtown DC to northern Virginia suburbs for "survivability".
POTUS45 is trying with some success to decentralize elements of the federal government. Moving some USDA and BLM jobs out of downtown DC out west. Those feds will be neighbors with and stand in line at the grocery store with the people they 'rule' over. You can find DC-centric news stories about those affected feds grumbling about it.

I used to live in Southside, Chesapeake, and moved north to Reston when it first started when my job required it. Reston had I vote for independence I got involved in and we lost, it stayed a part of Fairfax county and became the dumping ground for all the social programs and corporate unlimited building so I left for Maryland and Florida. It has become awful, Arlington used to be the home of Hy Hunter, but you would not recognize it now.
It might be a stretch to call me normal. But

Northern Virginia has been inundated with DC suburbanites. We southern gentleman landed gentry are a thing of the past. However, these carpet baggers will have an impossible chore to enact their utopian nightmare.

he has control of the house and senate and is a WACKO. He is after the N.R.A. And wants to abort Babies after they are born. And passing laws to put straight White males in jail, and letting all the criminals out of jail. that's why he wants to ban guns.
