I have been interested in this cartridge for a while, but not been able to find any information on it. Gary was kind enough to send me his cartridge loading manual a few years ago when I expressed interest in his .445 SM creations.

In the book the 225gr lead bullet is the only option listed. There are three powders listed as well, H-110, W-296, and H-4227.

Are there loads for other bullets and powders?

Also the velocity in the book the max velocity is shown as 2230 for the 225. Is this correct out of a 12" barrel. What is the pressure at this velocity. That seems like it must be running pretty hot to get that velocity from this little cartridge.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave I had one a good while back

my loads are at work. I do remember I shot a special 215 gr. FNGC bullet that I made and got about .375 Win. carbine performance. Best I could get from a .375 Win. in my 15" bbl. was 1950 fps with a 230 gr. Hornady.

A notable .375 GNR bullet and load I had was the Speer 235 gr. Semi-Spitzer at around 1800 fps from a 9" Encore. I can't remember what powder I was using. I remember I didn't get a good performance from 296 as I hoped. I think LilGun and AA1680 show promise in it.

I will check in the morning and post a few loads

barrel. Neither Sean or I take our loads up to full max. Every gun and barrel is different but if we said we got 2230 in that barrel, that is exactly what we got. A good friend of mine took a bison with one shot in the 375 GNR with the Speer 235 grain JSP. The 375 GNR, like the 41 GNR#2 and the 401 GNR#2 is considerably more powerful than most folks would think.

I have a 10" barrel, I got 2060 with the

225gr SP. So 2200 fps in a 12" is right. I used H110, AA1680 and H4227 all 3 worked good.
email me if you want some more loads.
