I know it's unlikely I'll ever be totally satisfied. But it's fun to play around anyway. This is working well for me. It holds as many rounds as a compact .45 but is about half the size and weight. It's astonishing how small it really is, smaller than a 2" small frame .38 actually. The 147 gr. JHP shoot well from the 3" barrel and are manageable.

I did not buy the light/laser, it came that way, and the holster was made for the rig, so I left it that way. Works pretty well too. Plenty bright enough to blind someone, and chase armadillos in the yard at night. I'm growing fond of carry guns devoid of extra buttons. Slide release and mag, that's all. Chambering a round every time I carry is rough on ammo. You are supposed to let the slide slap in a round feeding from the mag. I compromise by dropping it in the chamber and smacking the rear of the slide to pop the extractor over the cartridge rim. My gun runs OK like that and the ammo is not roughed up.

I find this is enough of a compromise with size, power, shoot-ability, that I DO actually carry it. Some of my bigger guns I dismissed the threat and left them behind, or dropped a last ditch piece in a pocket and went on. That began to bother me. I think this is a better fit for me. I have many larger "carry" pieces in 9mm, .38,.40 and .45 to carry if I so choose. Sometimes I do. But I figured I needed to get in a habit of actually carrying something real regular. Something more than a last ditch weapon.

I wanted the SIG but after shooting I found the Glock superior for the intended purpose, for ME. I also have read some glitchy things about the SIG early in production. Creating a dead trigger. You can look it up.

The Glock is just better sorted. Actually it's almost as big as a G19, just thinner.

I’ve been contemplating one. Lately for me it’s been a G26. For quick trips to the liquor store or for bread, milk or fireworks it’s been my second issue Colt Cobra. Always looking for that holy grail of carry pieces. It’s the journey, more so than the destination.

No moss on the G26! But this is different

It's the PM9, 5.4" X4" high and 0.9" thick. They have an identical gun within fractions of same size in .40 S&W! (lawdy!) It is the PM40 and holds 5+1, they are notably cheaper and I can guess why.

The Kahr are way over priced my my figuring but I bought used on purpose for about 1/3 retail. They need some break-in (says 200 rnds) so buying clean used has some merit. The C and CW line is a good value too, basically the same with plastic sights and less machine work, no extra mags provided.

I have a P40 also that is about 1/2-3/4 inches bigger in length and height. Just enough to hold onto, which you REALLY need. A 16 oz. .40 S&W is a handful in a chassis about the size of a .32 ACP from WWII.

The DA pull is very long but also very smooth and completely consistent throughout. It is very usable to me. I actually have (3) of these, the P380, PM9, and P40. They have fancy Lothar Walther made barrels and polygonal rifling, the C/CW line has conventional lands and grove barrels.

The G26 is about 0.27" thicker, 6 oz. heavier, and holds 4 more rounds.

I have been carrying a 4” smith model 57 and as always my Taurus PT22. Rarely leave home without the 57, and most days the 57 is strapped to me. Just don’t have a tuckable holster that will fit it, so switch to a 357 on those days.

Sourdough pancake holster with some retention clips to use IWB for my N-frame S&W. I have a Reeder 28/57 4" and a 3" 657 that I can run in it. For when I want more than Gary's slide holster. Prices are very good too.

That’s exactly what I use for my 57... and 357s. Pancake holster with IWB straps. I have found with the right belt And shorts it conceals extremely well. Can get heavy, but see above on the belt. I carry just behind the hip bone on the strong side and can forget it is there.... if I have the right belt... see a theme? Carry a speed strip for the reloads... and it lays flat and undetectable....

I'd like to see Rob bone the leather flat on one side.

So it fits the contour of your body. The cylinder bulge bites into my bony side. I've threatened to use silicone and glue on a fleece pad. An old Don Hume 9mm auto holster I own is the ONLY one I've ever seen done that way to suit me. It is a delight. I think I got it from Puffy and Dough carried it all over Afghanistan, then returned it to me. It did not make the retention criteria to suit the brass, but he was a private contractor, so allowed to slip along.

I have the same set up for a Ruger Blackhawk that I carried all over Texas on a trip, and it worked, but there is too much leather around the barrel making me think I am printing when I sit. Otherwise that worked well as well. The 57 lays flatter because of the ejection rod, but both could work and not that slow out of holster.... find With the cylinder at the beltline it sits comfortably most of the time.

So you carry your N frames in one of Gary's

As long as you don't stand on your head they carry fine in the slide. Some guns carry deep in it, like my FN HP. It holds about anything adequately. If you carry any one gun in it they will eventually bone out to that gun, like the N-frame. Then it might be good to have two, keep the other for flat sided semi's. So it will hold tighter. They are very handy.

Cool. I've only carried my Hi Power, 1911 and an old

I carried a Ruger LCR in 38 since they were new. I got a XDS 45 from a friend who hated it. I thought it was a fine shooting compact 45. Loved the way it carried. Had it on my hip at the gun show and ended up trading it for a new XDS 9mm. No matter how you feel about springfield. The gun is a good one.

Don't laugh but......

I have carried this daily for the past 20 years or so. Eleven rounds 45 ACP (10+1)
First five years in a Yaqui slide, then 10 years in a Simply Rugged Cuda with IWB straps.
The last five years a DeSantis IWB holster has been its home.
The DeSantis Has been the most comfortable and holds the pistol closest to the body, The Simply Rugged Cuda was a close second.
