reminds me of what I discovered when I had a TC G-2 carbine barrel made in 445SM and on a whim went to a slightly slower powder through the 16.25" barrel. Had better accuracy, less of the snappy recoil than with the faster pistol powder(4227 vs. 110/296). The 460SW with a handgun load in a 20" Katahdin Encore was brutal compared to the much slower 20" 45-70 barrel.
Did you use a faster pistol (110/296) for the test loads on the new levergun?

Gary, not to start a train wreck, but the 500SW levergun

I lean heavily on AA1680 in those cartridges....
