about 3/8" from the back of the trigger guard. In length it is not quite as long as the Bisley, maybe 1/4" shorter. The Magnum XL is the same gripframe but longer, about 3/4" longer than the Bisley and with the back of the trigger guard about 3/8" from your middle knuckle. Both are of the Gunfighter Grip design with the rear rounded a bit and no sharp edges at all. The Magnum XL gripframe is shown.
