so leave her alone. She could be having a better day and you call and start asking her questions about what happened etc and the tears start again and you have ruined the rest of her day. You are not doing her any favors calling and talking about Squirrely. Leave her alone. She is a strong lady and will do a lot better without us calling and bringing up all the bad details.
Yeah we all understand the sentiment, but we have to move

forward, all of us. We too will one day have our moment. As Gary mentioned it is a head's up to keep one's house in order. Get square with a personal real relationship with Jesus. Do the things you really wanted to do in life as goals. Love folks, tell them things you want them to know, while both of you are around.
I forget the poem but in the back of Elmer Keith's "Hell I was There" is a poem, not all that prolific, but a sound message. Basically it says to tell a man you appreciate him while you can, because one day you will not be able too. Good advice and adaptable to one's character.
We were all enriched beyond description by our friends and brothers but such is life. For our remaining time we have memories and are blessed with more opportunities for future adventure. I feel we should honor them with enjoying our blessings and passing it on to the next generation.
Well said WB. I needed that today!

“If with pleasure you are viewing a work a man is doing,
If you like it or you love him, tell him now.
Don’t withhold your approbations until the parson makes orations,
As he lies with snowy lilies o’er his brow.
For no matter how you shout it, he won’t really care about it,
He won’t know how many teardrops you have shed.
If you think some praise is due him, now’s the time to pass it to him,
For he cannot read his tombstone when he’s dead.”
E. A. Brinninstool, quoted by Elmer Keith
