Came out of the woods yesterday from an elk hunt northeast of Gunnison. Spectacular trip, camped at 11,000 ft and went out on horseback. We saw several herds and put hunters out as we thought they’d move but no one got a shot this week, very unusual. several were taken last week including one by Turnbull, I got to meet him. Details of the trip later. Checking here I was shocked at the too soon loss of Jason and Eric, both of whom I was privileged to meet at HHC. Very sorry for the loss to the families and they’re presence will be greatly missed here.
