Encore barrel will latch...

The barrel has to be slammed to latch, but then the hammer will not cock...Is this because the barrel latch isn't going all the way back to engage something to let the hammer cock? How can this be fixed?

to be fit. Even factory barrels won't, in most cases, fit a new frame without fitting.
