He had found some old ammo I had loaded maybe 20 yrs. ago with soft points. It would not function the 10.5" shorty AR gas system, too light. Loaded long ago I noted trimmed cases and Hornady JSPs 50, 45 gr., who knows, and loaded with what? Likely for a Contender project eons ago.

Low and behold the longer full length AR shucked them just fine without skipping a beat. He went on and on about how easy it was for him to hit with the "rifle" AR.

That likely shut that option down.
