It's a .22 LR, the standard will do. It's not really great but will do, given the precise accuracy possible. Even a .22 WMR rifle (40 gr. at 2000 fps) it's not a cannon, sure better than a .22 LR.

In a handgun the difference in much less divided.

Still, the flat topping gives the old .22 LR more of an advantage. Just like my beloved flat nosed cast handgun bullets over the old school RNL. It does wonders in comparison. The flat nose pushes a shock wave in front if it allowing a more clear and straight path. I've proven to myself that energy transfer is greater also.

I need to buy some more soap and shoot. I am playing with the scalloped nose .22 LR std. vel., FT, and RNL. I took a dremel and made those side cuts like the fluid dynamic ammo that is currently in vogue. For $5 and an afternoon's entertainment, it's cheap.
