I am assuming you are talking about the 410 GNR or the 500

GNR, as there is no such thing as a 410/500 GNR. The 410 GNR would be the easiest brass to get as it uses standard 454 Casull brass. The 500 GNR uses 510 GNR brass necked down, if you can find it (there are over 100,000 rounds of it out there somewhere). Or if you can't find it, you can use 500 Linebaugh trimmed down.

The 410 GNR has taken African Savannah buffalo with one shot, using a 255 grain hard cast gas check LBT style bullet..

It will also take critters the size of a bull elk with no problems.

The 510 GNR has taken 3 elephant that I know of and the 500 GNR is slightly more powerful (at top end loads) than the 510 GNR so it would be all according to your needs. I have used the 510 GNR on several African safaris but I haven't taken any big critters with the 500 GNR. I may take the 500 GNR to Africa in 3 months, not sure.

Flip a coin. Either will do whatever your needs happen to be.
