A walk in the snow yesterday

I have been too much of a house rat as of late so I grabbed my 17 HMR( Ruger Single Six Hunter Revolver with a 2x Burris scope in my home made chest holster) and took off.

I walked through the dense snow along a beaver brook. I cut a fifty yard shooting lane in that spot and set my caller and Mojo decoy. I turn on both and walk back to the triad of fallen trees that make up my blind

I used Female Coyote Whispers to no avail and so changed sounds to Nutty Nuthatch. In less than a minute a giant owl appeared. I wished I had not dropped my camera in the car as I wanted some images of what was to happen.

The big owl hopped from tree to tree until it perched three feet from the motion decoy. For some reason it turned it's head and two black beady eyes stared at me. Then it flew off in a J shaped flight path to the left of me about forty yards.

I kind of wished a varmint had come in but they were not in that spot for some reason.
