About 12-14 yrs. ago we got some AR boys going to HHC

About 6 of us pretty regular several years. Two have passed on since then. One was crazy Craig my stepdad. Long sad story up to and beyond his demise. My mother passed before him and Craig quickly married his mistress and got cancer. Buddy Emerson was the local Postmaster. He was one who went with us to HHC in TN. Buddy spent big, shot several animals, at least one trophy Elk, Aoudad, and A Black Buck. Also a nice Barasingha swamp Elk. The Elk was simply huge. Lo and behold since his house was being remodeled Craig offered to display the huge Elk head since they had ceilings tall enough. Time went on, things happened. I got word Craig’s mistress/wife sold the Elk head for $500. It probably cost Buddy about $5k turn key. Was nothing I could do. But the Barasingha mount remained when I got custody of everything after a couple years. I lost track of Buddy. Thought about it a lot. One day I made an inquiry on Facebook, I found Buddy! We had a nice reunion, he already had found out about the Elk head and wrote off the other too. Hey Buddy I have it for you!

We re-connected today and had a nice Misfit visit. Buddy had bought a Reeder .410 GNR revolver and a .338 GNR Encore handgun barrel at HHC. He’s used them quite a bit on deer. We’ll stay in touch now. We had ridden 12 hours round trip one HHC, got to talk a whole bunch. The beautiful Barasingha is reunited with its owner. Made a spot for my big Red Stag mount. Buddy recounted that the Barasingha was some of the finest eating, better than NA Elk. I recalled a young Y-O guide was killed by a Barasingha in TX. It was a sad affair. But a happy today!

Buddy started out as a rifle shooter before switching to GNR handguns. The big Elk he shot full of holes with a .30-378 Wby. Finally borrowing a .308 to finish it off! The Barasingha I think he took clean with a 7mm Mag.
