Just a little ways into June and already we have hit 90
90 degrees is unusual for Flagstaff, expecially up here at 8000 feet. But it is 90 right now at 11 AM. We have had several 90 degrees days so far and our hottest months are still ahead of us.
Our monsoon is supposed to cool things off when it hits, but last year the Monsoon skipped by us. The Monsoon starts July 4th and goes thru Labor Day with rain every afternoon, but it passed by us last year.
I have worked on one of my Prairie Dog rifles ready in hopes of my right eye getting close to normal, but I wouldn't bet on it. I have 2 varmint rifles, one Remington 700 in 22-250 and a heavy barrel Savage model 10 in 22-250 Improved. The Improved version adds nearly 100 extra yards to my long shots and shooting at a critter that is smaller than a Coke bottle that added range really helps. I have worked on the actions of both rifles and got the trigger down to slightly under 2 lbs. The Savage has that special trigger so the trigger pull was already just a hair over 2 lbs. Now it is well under that.
Planning on the right eye getting back normal is like whistling up a duck's ass. But stuck here at the house I don't have a lot to do but reload and thankfully talk to you guys on here, and take care of a bunch of Jack Russells.
