Old dog syndrome

My 12.5 year old Shiba Inu mix has come down with this just this week. It's a loss of balance and control. It was awful, for her and me. Vet said this will pass in a couple weeks, provided it's not a brain issue. Idiopathic vestibular disease is the official name for this. It's not pleasant to watch, especially since she was an energetic dog her whole life. I thought some of you may have experienced this in the past (your dog)? Especially Gary with all the pups around. Anybody? Thanks

We have had to put a few of our dogs down

House guard dog, teacup poodle, developed a case of wobbles. Took her to the vet. Young vet checks her out and says, "Looks like brain damage." Old head walks by and says, "Give her a good bath and look for ticks. Looks like tick fever." They found a tine tick under her chin. Removed the tick and next day she was good as new.
