Someone please buy this, so I won't think about it.

The older ones are most desirable

Everyone one I know who has bought a new one (CZ), and from what I’ve read online, all the newer ones (and Ancondas) require a sight upgrade and an action job (new ones have to pass drop-tests) to be really slick.

That IS an older late '70's snake.

I was buying them in the late 70's and '80's. They were all over for $400-$600 used.

Perfect!

I have 2 Pythons, a 4” blued from the 70s bought from its original owner and a 6” stainless I bought new in 1985ish. Will never part with them or buy a new one.

The wood grips are missing, worth about $250+

By themselves. They always felt poor, ergonomically to me. Being a Colt enthusiast I just ignored it. Some S&W guys do that, abscond with the very expensive grips. Leaving very good serviceable aftermarket ones in their place. But oh my! Getting stock grips to restore to original is expensive.

Reminds me of Ford ….

Ford made a Bronco back in the 70s and 80s. Now they have a “new” Bronco.
Colt made the Python and Anaconda until the early 90s. Now CZ/Colt has brought them back. Nothing like the originals….

Sad too, the Broncos look kind of cool.

If they would get an enthusiast engineer to make a minimalist one. One you could wash out with a water hose. No radio, no factory air, normally aspirated iron block 300 straight six. For fun make it three on the tree! I think they’d sell faster than they could make them. Let the aftermarket flourish and shore the economy some.

But for now they have a college girls ride with a puffed four banger and a short 50k mile fuse. Too much focus on facial recognition and selling driver data to others. We need a real rebellion product. As far from what they make today as they can get.

The old 1800’s Winchester lever gun I just bought is so refreshing. No thinking about optics, no sling, no varied loads (one; a 170-180 gr. at 1200 fps), cast lead. The focus is getting close and putting it where it counts!
