Deep in the back of the safe comes out this old 700 SA .308 SP. he bought a mount and scope to play the game. The optics weigh about what the gun does but you can’t hit what you can’t see. It’s a more reasonable $600 optic that competes with the $3k stuff. Come to think of it the gun cost about $600 in its day. Good enough to get him started. Better way to spend money and time than some other things!

Along with this learning experience comes precision re-loading. He does, on occasion, take his .30 GNR hunting G2 handgun to bust some steel at 300m and impress the local know-it-alls. lol
