I'd like to glean the learned opinions from the people on this site as to what their opinions are of the Smith and Wesson autoloading pistol chambered in 5.7mm?
I know I do not need one but I kind of like it for some reason.
I am thinking of it as a nice backwoods gun as well as potential carry.
Any thoughts? Anyone know of issues or problems? Thank you.
Colleen says they sell as quick as they get them in

If you have seen the new 22 magnum S&W, then it is the same gun except in 5.7 . It is a well made gun with adj sights and holds 22 rounds. Polymer frame as all the new Smiths are. Colleen likes it and she is PICKY. Price in the mid $600s.
For those that have asked or that wonder, I am

not in the Pistol Parlor every day. Due to my funky health I go in a couple days a week. Colleen brings home guns or barrels that need engraving and I do that here at my house. I hope this crap I have will fade away and I can get back to full time customizing. My guys do the hard stuff and the engraving and bluing is done here at my house in my home shop. Other than that business goes on as normal. We are putting out as many custom guns as we did a year ago plus we are specializing in piece by piece custom work for those that don't need a full custom gun. If any of you have questions call Colleen at the shop at 928-527-4100.
against my Doc's recommendation I made the

and am very happy with it. I watched a lot of video reviews and the S&W and the Ruger seemed to be the top contenders; however, the trigger pull on the smith edged out the ruger. I shot my dad's ruger 5.7 and I have to say that I do like the trigger pull on the smith more. Very easy to shoot! Also, the times I've taken it to church with good jacket weather, I like having the 22 round mags in the event that tango walks in and wants to do some damage. It's a big gun to carry so I only have it when i have a decent jacket or sweatshirt.
Good TK. We'll call it the Church Gun

22 magnum pistols and Colleen has ordered one for me. I am in no hurry, with the encephalitis causing my ongoing eye problem
I can't use it right now anyway. But like all gun people I just want one. Need doesn't have anything to do with it.
I have been carrying the S&W 5.7x28

From the time it as offered. I didn't get it with a safety as it was my carry gun. The only issue with the early models was the magazine catch would not line up with he cut out on the magazine. You really had to use some force to make it lock up. Years ago when the FN came out I bought several rounds of their military armor piercing ammo. Great stuff hard to find any more. Pistol is very accurate and I have been able to hit steel targets at a 100 yds. Great feel in your hand and provides confidence I'd things go south, highly recommend for concealed carry.
We have the FN, works good, but I don’t like it

The bore axis is too high to suit me. The sights seem odd. The trigger is useable but not that friendly. It was designed as a dedicated duty gun. Not for hunting or sport, nor concealed daily carry. It’s a military or police gun. Considering that you can accept some shortcomings to personal taste.
I shot Andy’s 5.7 and liked it. But it’s kind of large, like Andy compared to me! Depends on what you intend to use it for. I also shot Andy’s Kel-Tec .22 WMR 30-shot. For my farm and trail carry that 30-shot, 14 oz., dot sighted, rig better suited me. I bought one. Extremely reliable with 40-45 gr. ammo. It demands you load the magazines correctly (the rims) but was worth the money to me.
Kel-Tex makes an internal mag., 20-shot, 5.7 of their own. It is almost weightless, like 12 oz.! Price is good too at $399 retail. It’s tiny compared to any other 5.7 on the market. Real innovative, I’d love to try one.
