enter.

The image you see is the US/Canada border at Houlton Maine. For a number of years, one needs a passport to cross the border and back. I really don't have a burning desire to do anything in Canada.

Their gun laws are horrid. I chat with some of the guys who work at Maine Military Supply(they have a live range as well as a well stocked gun store) . They get a lot of foreign tourists who shoot a variety of handguns and class three firearms. Something they cannot do in back in their homelands.

Also. Canada just passed C-9 which apparently makes quoting Scripture in public a "hate crime". Whatever.

Which brings up another topic. Do you know what the fifth leading cause of death is in Canada?

Assisted suicide.

Nope. Not much to really compel me to cross that line. Besides. I kind of like to have personal artillery.

I’m sure there are some good folks in Canada

I’ve met several young folks through the American Water Works Association. But they are too willing to give up rights for the shiny object. The young folks were bragging about getting a month or two off maternity leave for both mother and father (or whatever?!) free! I informed them there was no such thing as FREE anything. I learned that in 6th grade Economics. “No such thing as a free lunch”, boy is that true.

Their behavior during COVID and the latest “Hate Speech” determination is terribly off-putting. I hear they have some really big bears but since you can’t shoot them with a handgun that cancels out any remaining Canadian interest for me.

What you have observed is very true.

I hate to say it but the population has been brainwashed for the most part.

The last time I traveled to Canada I really did not feel like it was all that great. It was expensive and you would see junkies sleeping on the curb in Toronto.

I have flown to Canada a couple of times and went thru a

brief customs in the airport and they didn't give me much hassle. One time i was on the way up almost to the arctic circle for a caribou/bear hunt, and the second time for a bear hunt. What could they do, tell me to get back on the plane?

Coming home I had 8 of those 60 lb wax covered boxes of caribou meat. They still hassled me about the sharp prongs on the horns and we had to run to a hardware store and get some garden hose and cut it up to 8 or10" pieces and stick some on each point. That was the extent of the hassling for that trip.

It has changed.

Years under Justin Trudeau and now the new PM Mark Carney is becoming more and more socialist.

I plan to get my passport and take a day trip to the place but I will literally vacuum my vehicle to make sure there isn't even an empty case in the truck.

The Canada of my childhood was totally different. You could just drive across the border with ease and with a friendly face.

I have heard some horrible stories from guys

Like having a box of handgun ammo in the back floorboard, or some targets they shot here in the states but the targets were accidently left in the trunk.
It seems in Canada you are guilty no matter what.
