Gary has posted on here before that he used to do “combat shooting,” back maybe as early as the 80s? Just curious about what that was .. I can’t seem to find much information about the “sport” beyond IDPA which began in the late 90s. Maybe I have my dates mixed up? Anywho, I enjoyed his stories about shooting handguns from atop a tree stump after belly crawling through a flooded ditch with broken glass and barbed wire while mortar rounds were exploding overhead. Seems there is NOTHING like that anymore. I’d like to shoot some match like that, even at my age, but there are no such matches around me for hundreds of miles that I can find.
