Forming 7 GNR from 30-30

Checking that I understand the process. Starting with new, unfired 30-30 brass:

- lube case necks inside & out
- run into 7 GNR sizing die to neck down until Contender will close easily on case
- load caseforming load and shoot to fireform
- reload fireformed case like any other cartridge

Am I missing anything? Any need for neck turning/reaming or a case trimming step?

That covers all , fairly simple and I just pick up once

fired brass at the range and follow your procedure , same with 30 GNR.
No need for neck reaming etc...

No, easy as falling off a log.

I like the once fired .30-30 brass. I tried some 7-30 Waters once, they shot fine, but the tapered shoulders were too hard and split. Might have been reloaded before, work hardened.

I just FL size in the 7GNR die and load a starting load. So accurate and light recoil. A pocket 7x57!
