Got me a Hummer at lunch!

Not the good kind. A salesman gifted me a $40 gift card for a local burger shop. This was in appreciation for a good order I sent his way. Not wishing to offend I accepted the token bribe, a part of normal business. My first experience I did take-out. I found the Patty Melt overly greasy and not very appealing. Their specialty is burgers and pies so today I hoped the burger would be better. I decided to eat inside so the car wouldn’t smell up with burgers and fry smell. Nice clean place, I sat alone with a fellow also alone behind me. That was him, the HUMMER. Every song he hummed without a pause. When the song on the speakers switched, he had another stanza in reserve. The fact it was old gospel songs only added to my guilt. I had fantasies of shaking him by the lapels, “CRIPES MAN! STOP WITH THE HUMMING!”. Song or humming, I figure, is the obvious mark of a happy Spirit. I can respect that. But I guess I had an issue with mine, grating onward, incessant. I thought of turning around and begging keep up man; you’re lagging the tempo! Elvis, Conway Twitty, no matter, hope quickly lost. I found myself begging for a Taylor Swift diddy in hopes of an objectionable tune to hum. That was probably wishful thinking on two counts. For 23 minutes he didn’t stop, not even while he was chewing. Finally, I was able to trot out of there and be clear. If I don’t get indigestion it will be a wonder. I still feel a bit guilty, maybe my Spirit is dark and was battling unawares?! I had a friend who hummed while he worked in the lab, drove me nuts, I just left. Another guy at work does it too. I leave when he comes in the shop. Maybe I have something wrong with me.

I may be much more tolerable than his/their singing.

I always find a patty melt too greasy and go for the burger. We have a fairly local burger place that is very good. We get them about twice a month. Don’t eat out much other than that any more unless friends want us to go with them and we do that for the socialization. After most restaurant meal we normally say on the way home, “we can make it better”. I attribute it to being married to a Cajun for 32 years. And she taught me to cook as well. If I have to grab something in town I normally go for tacos made by real Mexicans if I can find them. A couple of good places in Shreveport I like when I have to be there. One I wlays get the chicken. The other place has beef tongue. I know but it is really good.

As for the hummer, you should have just started singing loudly. Then the owners would have asked you both to stop. ????
