Except for the Taylor Book “Pondero” I’ve never read much of guys toting Lee Enfields in Africa. Quite formidable in the late 1800’s, 10-11 shots with .300 Savage power. I don’t like the cock on closing, but they ran pretty slick. The later #4 actually has sights I can use. I still have a #5 Jungle Carbine somewhere.

I think Bell also said he took some Elephants with the older 215 gr. full patch military ammo. Pointed bullets rivet and tumble. But it’s quite a testimony.

Reminds me of those .45/70 derringers.

About 1/2” of bullet engagement. I read the factory 405 gr. (Rated at 1400 fps) manages 600-700 fps from them. For the platform that’s pretty impressive. My .45 Colt shooting from one showed instability from the .410 chambers. But at belt buckle rubbing distance even a sideways 250 gr. would do the trick.

Short barreled rifle! Lol
