Marlin 336A Id have to look but I thought late 50's mfg. Not D&T for a scope so a williams peep are the sights. Load was a lbt 170gr LFNgc from MBWorks. IMR 3031 28gr for 2028fps, my 2nd load equal to but I have more 3031 is RL-7, 25gr for 2100fps. Took this deer at 80yds, a step and a fall.
I've taken deer with cast in 30.30's also, No real world difference in the 2, but interesting history on why, and, no one really knows as the why, much speculation, but take it for what its worth. Still a good story.
