I don't think most of the Misfits need this but I liked what they said so I am sharing it. Probably a lot of you have seen it. It's basically what Elmer Keith and Ed McGivern and other early shootists said in their books.

Cooper is shooting a semi auto pistol. Let's see how slick you are. What is the handgun Cooper is holding in the ad?
Is that the Bren Ten

extractor. But the front of the frame tapers to the end of the slide and the Bren has a standard length frame similar to the 1911. It may be the Bren, but I don't think so.
I looked to, seems almost eastern European

the front of the slide, dust cover is at the very end, no bushing. External extractor and hammer fired. Very tapered in front of the trigger guard like the old Astra Constable, but bigger. A prototype or Russian maybe?!
Somewhere around 1980 or so there was an

unusual 9mm that had a nobby forend and a taperd slide much like in the picture. It held 18 rounds. We had one at my shop just outside Nashville. I think the name of the gun started with a "P". We shot it quite a bit but never could get a full magazine out without it jamming. I can see it in my mind but can't bring up the name of it. I really believe that is what Cooper is shooting, or trying to shoot.
Barrel looks too big to be a 9mm - see ...

nose similar to a lot of Walthers, but with the large bore as Jim mentioned I don't think it is a 9mm.
It also has a high rear sight , at least it seems to be high

The Bren Ten had a high rear sight but nothing else on that gun is like a Bren.

Gary,
Are you thinking of the Steyr GB?
HUGE gun, fixed barrel 9mm, 18 rd magazine.
My best guess is an early CZ75 model see the picture

Maybe an early iteration of the Bren Ten. Cooper had a lot
