We now have eleven new babies. Thankfully it’s finally above freezing.

bi-split more stalls and secure another alternate "just in case". This is all due to that little "half-size" buck we tarried in the heat of summer to "fix". We thought he was too young and short. I guess he found a high spot.
I found you can run (5) 250W drop lamps on a 20A circuit. I'm also a good ways from the house receptacles. A 6th tripped the breaker. I'm splitting it up. Need to hard wire the barn this spring. And I may need a couple more drop lights, so that circuit won't handle more, considering the long run and loss through the extension cord. Its all math but easy to field test! That's how folks burn up barns.
Cripes! More coming! Round three.

eleven babies. I am sure (I hope) that you don't eat the babies, but what do you do with them. We have one litter of babies about 6 weeks old now and 2 more bitches that should crank out the babies in a few weeks. We have had as many as 14 but 5 or 6 is normal. But Colleen has a waiting list for them.
A mom in milk with babies is pretty easy to sell.

Butter, and some other stuff I forgot. But it’s a lot of work and heartbreak, a lot like dogs but more medication involved. We raised registered Great Danes when I was a kid in the late 60’s early ‘70’s. Got $100-150 each for them. That was when a new car was $4000! Cows are where it’s at right now, huge money!
