When you think of Wyoming, you

generally think of antelope, elk and mule deer.

One of the things I neglected upon moving to the Cowboy State was that the fish and game will not issue any resident big game tags until you have lived in the state for one calendar year.

It was something I did not think of. Here in the East, most states consider you a full time resident once you get your driver's license.

So most of my hunting in Wyoming was for small game and upland birds. I do believe that this state does not get enough credit for the small game opportunities.

I did get a non resident hunting license with a pheasant stamp. So I hunted ruffed grouse, blue grouse, jackrabbit and pheasant.

The state offers so much beauty and the iPhone camera does not do justice to what the eye can see. The images of hunting pheasants around Ocean Lake with the Wind River Range and Gannett Peak in the background are breathtaking and awe inspiring.
