First center fire I ever fired.....

A large memory there. My Dad was in Korea for the "Police Action" on the peninsula. He was wounded and pulled from the line. He got assigned to a transport company and put in charge of the motor pool. He came across a couple of Italian UN troops in the medical detachment. They were in need of a Jeep. Well, he traded a US Army M83A1 General Purpose Vehicle for one 1934 Beretta with an extra mag and leather holster. Wrote it off as a combat loss. I didn't know how he got it until a buddy that was there with him told me. They used to have a small reunion every year or two. I was maybe 10. They would drink and tell war stories; only the good ones. This guy; Tony Derasio, He was Dad's best bud asks, the old man Hey, do you still have that Beretta you brought home? He said yes. He then went on to tell the story of how he "aquired" it. When I asked my Dad he said: "I didn't see nothin', I didn't hear nothin' and I don't know nothin'." Those men could laugh!

P.S. I saw my Father cry twice in my life, at his mother's funeral and at Tony's funeral. There's something in that...
