Band due to feeling than the group's name, Grand Funk Railroad was not a decent name for a group. That really hurt the group as a lot of the radio stations across the country only played songs that end up on Billboard, Cash Box and one of two smaller magazines. They also bad mouthed Farner for performing with no shirt on.

You mentioned Mark Farner, the lead guitar for the group. He also played organ, and played it with his guitar hanging on his shoulder and on his neck.
