Two of my favorite .45 Colts….

.454’s are not really .45 Colts, are they?! The Jim Taylor “Reeder 20” is a very special gun with a story. I got it from Jim just before one of his Mozambique expeditions. I had a time regulating the fixed sights, but finally tuned it to a 300 gr. at 900 fps. I need to shoot something with it while I can still see a little. A .45 ACP extra cylinder sure would be fun too.

The other was a deal from fellow Misfit at a HHC. It’s a rare factory gun that needed very little to suit. I installed fiber optic front and rear sights. It not only shoots .45 Colt but also .45 ACP in full moon clips. I also found it manages .45 Win. Mag. in the clips as well. That round is basically “factory loaded” Ruger level fodder. It’s a 4” round butt frame as well. Pretty close to perfect for a big DA revolver. Not as slick as an old N-frame but it’s certainly more robust.
