Getting the guns ready for the hunt all next week in the Goldthwaite area. Started shooting some jacketed HP for 45 Colt but ended up just going with my usual 270 grain lead SWC at just under 1000 feet from a four inch Reeder Backpacker (love this revolver). It has done the job on hogs and deer now for years. With the short barrel and fixed sights I limit my shots to under 40 yards. 81 year old eyes are also a contributing factor to short ranges. Rifle is ready for a longer shot.
