I have a larger SP101 .22 8-shot that is a fantastic trail gun. I still like my M63 Smith more though. But if anyone wonders whey they drop to a 7-shooter lots of times on a .22 chassis for the .22 WMR it's because the rims are wider and it won't fit 8 touching. The SP101 is touching the LR rims as it is. I have a Taurus K-frame size in .17 HMR (same as the WMR) and it is also a 7-shooter.
The 6-shot "Baby Remington/Ruger" 6-shot .22 is as valid today as it was in the 1950's. I have a spur trigger pocket Remington .31 C&B copy, and you instantly see the family resemblance.
