I hope to write a collection, the GNR calibers and guns I own. Record hunts, custom guns and features, reloading data, to compile into “Chapters” . The idea is to compile all of it into one body of work for my kids and possibly (non-profit) publication for future generations.
I’ve only taken three game animals so far. (I think). A nice old Red Stag in Missouri and a chocolate phase Sika at the Y-O in TX. Plus a nice cull 8-point Whitetail also at the Y-O. I took my Blackbuck with the .338 GNR, which is a fantastic caliber. But I’ve settled on the .378 to just get it done. I used a Hornady 270 gr. for the Sika and Whitetail and a 260 gr. Nosler on the Stag. It’s hard to get it wrong. The .378 GNR handgun has the exact velocity and energy as the .375 H&H rifle does at 200 yds. That will certainly do! Still searching for my Y-O chocolate Sika photo. I currently have two .378 handguns, Encore and FA.
