Well I don’t think I’ll get my SAG card.

They actually didn’t pay me. I made a commercial for TV, broadcasting through the state on KTHV channel 11. It’s airing today and this evening, so my movie star status will be short lived. lol.

I was asked by the UAMS Medical Sciences to do the spot on Prostate early screening. I was to relay my experience and positive outcome with prostate cancer, urging men to add PSA testing to their normal exams. It is something I’m concerned about and hope to help others. Several Misfits have had experiences and REALLY helped me. Don’t suffer, much less alone.

We did “watchful waiting”, a medical term. I traveled that path for 7-1/2 years, double what is typical. I think because the self treatment I was doing on the side (I darn sure didn’t tell the Dr. about it). I’d researched what I was doing to my own satisfaction. Praise be to God it didn’t spread, it sure could have. I chose to have it removed 6-months ago. It was a great success and I’m about 90% of what I was before. I take that as I’m still improving. Cancer is gone as the best medical evidence shows. Unlikely to manifest again as it was simply removed completely. I considered targeted radiation, but it sometimes comes back.

I had many Misfits conversations at HHC about the topic and I’m more than happy to help anyone else. Thank you all for your help and especially prayers. God loves me for sure. When the commercial hits the channel 11 site I’ll link it for the humor. I’m way too embarrassed to watch myself. I heard from kind friends it looked good.
