My old .470 Nitro with Reeder barrel…
I’m building another but .500 Nitro. Last build I adapted the barrel to use a 12 ga. forend. This time I’ll adapt forend (Flex-tech rifle) to the bull barrel. I’m not adding and stock weights this time and I’m installing a red dot sight to prevent scope eyebrow at bay. I learned early but it’s hard to watch every shooter.
Cast bullets and Trail Boss duplicate easy shooting .45-70 level loads. I’m awaiting delivery of the furniture now. I bought a Flex-tech buttock, hoping to stave off some recoil. But looking closer, if the cheek is rubber coated, that might not be so good. I still have some “sight over scope” rings. I think it a novel idea to add auxiliary sights. A perfect application.
