Along the Sylamore creek and Ranger district. It’s close to Mountain View where they have all those hillbilly music festivals. Blanchard Springs caverns is the only living cave in NA. They have two different hour long tours, about 200’ underground. What do you carry even on a controlled tour, and hiking these days! Lots of loons out, a guy stabbed two parents while their small children ran away a month ago, here in AR!

I carried a small .380, 14 rounds ammo, pocket knife, penlight with extra batteries, a “survival” Schrade pen. It has, besides ink pen, a glass breaker, ferro rod & steel, and signal whistle. Hopefully if needed, on the trail, I could make a fire, defend my family, and see where I was going. lol. In all, 200 miles, food (we carry ice chest and lunch meat, chips), cave tickets, all in less than $100 for all four of us today.

I noted in the discussion the blue lights signified old 1960’s explorer cave entrance tunnels!

Much farther down the trail, in the slippery single track path is the double waterfall. No guard rails or signs, just don’t be an idiot and you probably won’t die. Some folks were taking wedding photos below the second drop about 75’ below, today.

Shoot left this pic out.

The old Indian shelter down in the campground.

They call this fishing hole Mirror lake. You can fish, hike, whatever, as long as you don’t litter or bother anyone, costs $0.00.

I would rather eat ground glass than go into a cave.

it's going to hit me. I once had an attack seven decks down inside the USS Alabama, the one in Mobile Bay. They almost had a new port side entrance! Another odd one was in a vehicle boxed in at a Bank drive through, so silly.

The cave thing was not too bad. I've been visiting this place since about 1975 when I was a kid. You go 200 ft. down in a huge cargo type elevator with about 20 other people. It takes 45 seconds (I counted) and that was the worst for me. I'm always freaking bout some cataclysmic event while I'm down there. So I make keen notes as to which holes lead to the surface. You can climb out sideways and come out on the side of the mountain. That is a comfort. On the exit you walk out to a bus where they ride you back to the top. They have two tours, this easy one and another that has like 700 steps, so Granny might set that one out. Each is by appointment online and only $15 per person. Something to say you been there, done that. It's nice and cool on a hot day.

Is usually along with at all times, in my boot right now as I drive a bus for church.

I don’t really like the .380, but it sure

Is hard to replace it for size, weight, capacity, and shootability. It much smaller than any revolver that I’d replace it with. I’ve found it very reliable with ammo it likes as well. I had the slightly larger 9mm version but the .380 won a stay.
