I know Jim has one, anyone else have one of these?

Just came today. At about 12” it threw a 1/2” pattern. Not even a leg or wing left! It’s a single pump spring (?) powered air shotgun that shoots table salt.

We have 2 of them ...

One lady I introduced to them now shoots flys on the wing!

Whoever thought of it is a genius!

The guy who invented it said he got the idea as a kid.

He used to shoot flies with his Red Ryder BB gun .. no BB's ... he would cock it and pour fine sand down the barrel. Said it worked pretty well. When he got older he began thinking about it and came up with the Bug-A-Salt gun.

I have an older one, probably the 1.0

They are fun but I found that the muzzle needs to be inches away in order to put the wily flies down for good????

Try Kosher Salt ... it has larger grains.

also, Pattern your gun. Shoot a paper towel at different ranges.

And caught the wrath. But it is highly effective and what a fun tool! The book says effective range is 3’. I think 2’ is about optimal. As long as no one gets goofy and shoots someone else, or the cat, I think we’ll have a good experience.

Cats are fun to shoot with it. Hit 'em in the tail.
