Good morning to you all.
One of the joys to not living in Massachusetts is that I can own and hunt with suppressors. I know some may question its efficiency, but they are fun. in plain English.
My plan is to run some subsonic loads through a Silencerco Hybrid 44 M which will be mounted on a 10" TC Contender barrel that Gary has threaded.
My only obstacle is that certain powders in the state of Maine are hard to find. It seems that the place is devoid of Hodgdon's CFE pistol or Universal.
So my plan is to look for other powders that will be able to propel a 270 grain Maker bullet at just under 1100 fps.
Not to sound too silly but has anyone here ever use a suppressed 44 or other large caliber for either target or hunting?
Just trying to glean some ideas.
PS: One neat thing about my place is that I can shoot out my front door.

I'd start about 8 gr. Unique, work up to maybe 10. (nm)
