Fiber Optic Front Sight

I have a Ruger Super Redhawk Toklat. I put a fiber optic front sight on it from Ruger. The "fiber optic" insert has broken. Does anyone here know where I can get just the insert? I called Ruger, they don't have any and was told the sight is obselete now. I don't need the entire sight, just the insert.

I’d check Brownell’s. It’s a certain diameter pipe.

Different diameters and lengths are around. Lyman group also markets a bunch of those. I think I have a Lyman set on my 4” Redhawk .45. A few phone calls and lots of patience. Most folks will blow you off and tell you to buy a new $30-40 front sight, not worth their time. I feel your pain.

Do you have a remnant to mic? I have some pipe

I think I got several pieces with a Wal-mart sourced shotgun sight. I could check.

Scotty, I don't have a micrometer, but maybe I can get close
with a mechanics type ruler. I'll see what I can come up with.
Thanks.

Just Google.......

"fiber optic front sight replacement", That should get you started. But as suggested, accurately measure the diameter of what you have. You should be able to find what you need.

Scotty, it is hard to read a ruler that only has increments for sixteenths and thirtyseconds. Nearest I can tell it measures 3/16 or 4/32.

LOL, you will make me do some math.

Use the back end of a drill bit to check the diameter.
