version. Back in the 1970's it was exciting, motorcycles, good guys chasing bad guys, and the er... hero carried a two tone Colt Python with gold accents. "Electra Glide in Blue" came out in 1973 staring Robert Blake. He was pretty hot back then, I always liked him. I remember the interview about the movie on Johnny Carson.

The movie today is less interesting, and an exploitative on police brutality against the peace loving hippies. But motorcycles and that cool Colt Python! In reality the only reason to even peek at it today, if you are really bored.

Parts of that was filmed in Cave Creek, Arizona

I was living there at the time. The film company rented my trailer I was living in and used it in the movie. I was living in a little camping trailer and it's in the film. My sister and my wife hung around the filming for several days trying to get parts as an extra but they got there too late. Others from Cave Creek had grabbed up the extra parts.

That is so cool! I'll have to get a copy and watch it now!

I went to the theater by myself and sat thru the movie twice. Certainly remember the two tone Colt. I watched it again maybe a year or two ago.

so being there when it was filmed was just an accident on our part. The little camp trailer in the movie was where I was living when I got married. My wife and I lived in it for a couple weeks and then rented a larger place.

The people who were filming did most of it without permits or anything. Just set up and started shooting.

The cowboy bar scenes after the hippies are hassled were shot in Harold's Cave Creek Corral which opened in the 1950's and is still there, though it has been rebuilt since the movie scenes.

Never been to Cave Creek but they did have a brewery that made beer with a big green chili pepper in it. One bottle and you'd sweat.

Was this your trailer? Figured it has to be.

It wasn't much but for a single guy it was OK. I was in an RV/Trailer park and was next door to a bathroom that had a shower so I did not need much.

When I got married we stayed in it about a week, while the place we rented was being made ready.

Newly weds don't need much room either! :-D

Got one more picture of it…

The chase scenes showed the neighborhoods and some houses. The outer scenery is beautiful, totally foreign to me. No green!

In high school I bought a 1962 Shasta trailer. Nice little camper but no head. It was a portable party base! I re-painted it gloss white and added a red ZZ Top stripe on the side. Made a $300 profit over my purchase price ($325) for the trouble! Sold it to some Carnies to live in.

IF it is a good one. That can be rare. I miss that kind of country. What you are raised in is always "home" ...
