Besides being a good Magnum Shotshell powder

we used to shoot a lot of Blue Dot in 140 gr. .357 loads and .41 Magnum too. I have a mould for the 230 gr. Tumble Lube LEE TC bullet. It works great, even in the .45 Colt. My .45 Super chamber has a throat about as long as a .45 Schofield. I leaned on the throating cutter a but much! lol The projectile travels at least 1/4" or so, before engaging rifling and actually starting to build up pressure. I guess since it has free bore the bullet stays aligned and goes straight. Accuracy is great, despite my fumbling. A chambered muzzle break for the threaded muzzle really helps with recoil and has to help with the barrel tilting and flip. My max load with the 230 gr. TC "gas check" ran right at 1300 fps using "LongShot". A little slower, and lower pressure than Blue Dot. You should try some given the occasion. It added 200 fps to my 10 ga. 2 oz. Turkey loads at the same liste pressure as Blue Dot. The BlueD. is the traditional standard for really big magnum shotshells.
