A Ruger Old Model Single Six .22 ...

I had Gary cut the barrel to 4 5/8" and mount a Super Single Six front sight. With the rear sight opened a bit I can now see the sights! This is my favorite plinking gun ..practice gun ... fun gun these days.

I shot some targets yesterday with a bunch of old ammo from the 1970's ... shooting 20 yards using a two-hand hold ... resting my left hand on an ammo box. The gun is accurate while I am fairly consistent at pulling a shot out somewheres.

But I really enjoy shooting the .22 ... I went through about a hundred rounds shooting broken clay pigeons and breaking the little pieces even smaller.

Fun stuff!

Grips?

The old Ruger XR3 grip is virtually identical to the Colt Single Action Army. I grew up on old Colts and what are now the "old model" Rugers and I like the XR3 grip. I changed all my Rugers that did not have them to the XR3 grip. Shooting them and the Colts, all the guns have the same feel to me.

I am not sure who made those grips. It was nearly 25 years ago when I got them.

Good to know, like it.
