often it will squib. It seems to be an issue with most slow powders like H110/296, LilGun, AA#9. Just be mindful to use "magnum" primers with full case loads. Which are recommended in the load manuals! Oddly a 95% density will perform mostly fine. Must just not be enough air to fully ignite the charge with such small granules packed so tightly.
My squibs usually showed a compacted cake of green/yellow unburned powder and yellow granules as residual. Thankfully I always use cast bullets in this caliber. Jacketed bullets are a devil to beat out of a bore. I've even had to center drill a jacketed slug (in a TC barrel) then beat it out with a softer metal bore rod. It's not for the faint of heart.
I have read since my youth about Elmer Keith dis-liking magnum pistol primers. As I said you can get away with it if you use standard primers and have some air space in the case but why test it?! IF the proper spec magnum caps are available.
