we were going to have a cold snowy winter or a warm dry winter. She would have me bring any male squirrel I killed to her before I skinned it. If the squirrel had heavy fur around his balls it meant we had a cold wet winter coming. If the squirrel had little or no fur around his balls it was going to be a warm dry winter. She would check 8 or 10 squirrels before she made the decision.
I don't remember if she was right or not. I just remember how she made her decision. I wonder what she would say if she saw my house a winter or three ago.
House almost covered

cut a path for the dogs

7 feet of snow on the back deck

shoveling 4 feet of snow off the roof

looking out the windows, nothing but snow.

going to work can be fun
