Maybe put it out for company, but usually it was a fresh Sears catalog. I actually used outhouses at some old homes i remember visiting here in AR in the late 1960's. One Church I remember too. After plumbing came most converted them into tool sheds. Many were connected to the chicken coop for some reason?
