When I turned 15 in 1979, my bday present was a New Marlin 1894 in 357 Magnum. My Dad always loved rifle/pistol combo cartridges. It was purchased to compliment my Security Six the same month.

Killed some mighty big and mean hogs with that gun. Don't recall ever having to fire a second shot to finish a hog.

Clearly, I didn't kill enough of them. Today they are epidemic here. Louisiana has made it legal to hunt them 24/7 here.
